Katalina's artwork includes traditional and experimental forms of painting, prints, photography, enamelling, stained-glass and video art. Conceptual inspirations range from traditional Russian iconic art to contemporary music. The artist's abstract canvases created in the 1990s portrayed the elements: Fire, Water, Sun, Rain, Storm etc and explored emotions  through colour and light. Katalina s present paintings reflect her love of  nature, music and culture.
Film and photography have influenced Katalina  s artwork: she holds an  MA in Film Studies and has conducted years of research in the field of European Experimental Film.
Since 1990 - when she first worked with an  international crew of young film makers in Vienna,- Katalina has been creating short films internationally.
Photography was one of Katalina's  early inspirations as several members of her family were keen  photographers. Later on photography became also a point of reference for Katalina s
artwork: her photographs feature musical performances, landcapes and  portraits.
